Drama.

Our lives need it, this is how we learn to survive, this is how we stay strong, this is the only way to belong. Peaceful empty silence is not us and never will, social beings is what they say, no matter what you might think you are always a part of something. You need drama in your life to survive, maybe that is a harsh word to use but it drives the point home, if you find yourself getting upset by imaginary realities then you don’t have enough drama in your personal life, “why would it emotionally affect me if an actor cheats on his wife when my son or my husband has fallen ill? How can you have time to leave a comment on that issue on an online forum? I wonder.”

You let it affect you but you can’t do anything about it, it is imaginary, it doesn’t exist in your real life it only exists in your head, you are no different than a crazy person screaming, “they are coming for me!”, “WHO?”, “them”, “WHO IS THEM”, “please don’t let them take me.” Exactly that is you and you don’t even know it.

You could be attending your daughters soccer game, instead you are busy looking at the other side of the world thinking you are making a difference.

You could be cuddled with your partner watching a movie, instead you are scrolling aimlessly in a thread arguing about how a small celebrity’s mistake makes them evil.

You lack drama in your life so you go seek it and argue with yourself about it and you tell me you are not crazy? Okay, I believe you.
