My Life Part 3.
Art : Cloak.
By Sakuan.
Hi again Sakuan, it’s been a while since we talked, I have a bunch of questions for you today, I hope we have the time to finish it this time, but I doubt it because you’re you, and we know how you do things, are you ready?
Sakuan: I am ready, I’ll try my best to answer all your queries, but I won’t promise anything, because I don’t do the whole promise thing.
That’s a good way to start, let’s start there, Promise, why don’t you promise. Just so I understand exactly what you’re saying, you said you don’t promise, or you don’t use the word promise?
Sakuan: I don’t promise…
What do you mean by that?
Sakuan: Promise is a big thing to me, life happens, and people have different perspectives, that’s why I don’t promise.
Would you please elaborate on that?
Sakuan: I’ll try my best. How about I give you a scenario, when you promise someone something, now you have to do that thing, that’s if you’re a person of your word. Something might happen to you that’ll make you break the promise, and when you explain the situation to the other person, they might take it as a mere excuse of your laziness or something to that extent. People get accused of being lazy when sometimes the reason they give is valid. You might not see their point of view because you can do the task without any struggles and you assume the other person should be able to do the same when that’s not the case.
I see your point, let’s move on, what have you been doing these days?
Sakuan: I’ve been watching the 2020 Olympics, this is the first time that I’ve been able to catch the Olympics live, and let me tell you, it has been great, I can’t believe how much I’ve been missing, the good thing about finding new things and hobbies is the fact that you’re now going to be doing that thing. You don’t get to be bored as much anymore and it’s great. I’ll be watching the Olympics for sure from now on. Right now, I’m looking forward to the Paralympics, that’ll be fun to watch, and maybe the stories could inspire some of my art, the writing side.
What are your favorite sports to watch, or do you watch every single one of them?
Sakuan: I like watching the highlights of every sport, but there are several sports I watch the full match: swimming, softball, volleyball, beach volleyball, baseball, football/soccer, athletics, women’s rugby, a little bit of tennis, I stopped watching tennis after Naomi Osaka lost. There are some sports that I thought I’d never watch, I didn’t think they would interest me at all, I was wrong, I really enjoyed watching softball, volleyball, baseball, and swimming, they are so fun to watch, now I’ll probably watch and follow all these games off the Olympics. There’s something relieving about watching people who’ve worked so hard fight through a competition, win or lose, shows you nobody is perfect, even the best of the best might still lose because at the end of the day there could only be one Gold, one Silver, and one Bronze. The losses of the other teams don’t mean they were bad, or they did something wrong. They qualified to be in the competition in the first place and that counts for something right? these are the best of the best athletes in the world, so they didn’t mess up or did anything wrong, they lost because they lost, someone had to lose.
